‘Turbo Vestri Hostilis’
Mr. Arthur Maxie McGath, 69, of Rocky Face passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015. He was the son of the late Arthur Max McGath and Pearl Elizabeth Warren McGath and was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Lavon McGath. Maxie served proudly in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Peggy Cole McGath of Rocky Face; daughters and son-in-law, Sherí Mechele Cunningham of Tunnel Hill and Kathy and Mark Bennett of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Christian Cunningham, Chae Cunningham, Christopher Cunningham, Blake Bennett, Blane Bennett, Brooke Bennett, Mark Bennett, Justin Bennett and Mitchell Bennett. Funeral services will be Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Watkins officiating. Burial will be West Hill Cemetery.
