‘Turbo Vestri Hostilis’
Charles T. "Ted" Davis, of Tiffin and formerly of Waldo, passed away on Tuesday evening, February 15, 2022 at Marion General Hospital. He was born on December 2, 1942, in Danville, IL, to Charles T. and Joanne (Keene) Davis. On September 15, 1978, he married Wanda Hoerig. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Davis of Tiffin; son, Earl M. Davis of Utica; daughters, Melissa Spencer of Marion and Heather (Chad) Wolfe of Gahanna; brother, David (Patty) Davis of Topeka, KS; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles T. Davis, III; and sisters, Nancy Lee Razmus and Linda Howard. Ted was a graduate of Bismark High School in Danville, IL and served in the United States Navy from July 6, 1960 to November 18, 1963. He started his career off as an electrical apprentice at General Motors and then was a Plant Manager in Lancaster. Ted then worked at Hayes Albion and Harvard Industries as a maintenance supervisor and retired from Cypress Industries in Marion. After retiring, he worked as the Industrial Maintenance Program Coordinator at Tri- Rivers for 17 years. He was a member of the Marion Moose Lodge #889 and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, gardening, feeding the birds, tinkering and building things and remolding his house. He enjoyed traveling with his brother and sister-in-law, David & Patty to Yellowstone and surrounding areas, Blue Ridge and Smokeys, the Great Lakes and New England Ted was one of a kind, generous, forgiving and kind. His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Burial will be private in Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-Rivers Career Center.
