Bill Jones, 71, died Jan. 14, 2017. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Graveside services take place at 1 p.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado. He was a veteran and arson investigator. Survivors include his wife, Susan; two daughters, Jamie Jones of Loma and Jodie Jones of Yakima, Washington; and four grandchildren. Bill Jones’s Obituary William “Bill” Lee Jones, 71, of Fruita passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Courtyard Care Center in Fruita, Colorado. He was born on June 8, 1945 in Denver, Colorado to Charles and Gertrude Jones. Bill married Susan Cox on April 12, 1968. He was in the United States Naval Special Forces and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He obtained a bachelor degree from Adam State College in 1971. After graduation, Bill became a Firefighter and then an Arson Investigator in Aurora, Colorado. He and Susan had two daughters, Jamie and Jodie. After retiring from the Fire Department, he and Susan relocated to Fruita, Colorado. Bill enjoyed fishing, politics, poker and his grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife, Susan and two daughters. Jamie Jones of Loma, CO and her two children: Sadie and Cole and Jodie (son-in-law Dan) Jones of Yakima, WA and her two children: Sophia and Olivia (also known as “OK” by Grandpa).
