‘Turbo Vestri Hostilis’
Pearley B. Seekins, 79 passed away May 29, 2012, in Palermo. He was the son of Charles and Eva (Whitcomb) Seekins. Pearley grew up in Searsport, graduated from Searsport High School in 1951 and entered the Navy, serving on the USS Randall and in the Beach Jumpers Atlantic Unit. He married his high school sweetheart, Joan Moody, in 1952 and following his naval time he returned to Searsport to raise his family. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Moody) Seekins; his five children, Regienna Grant and her husband, Joseph, Joanna Davis and her husband, Timothy, all of Palermo, Frederick Seekins and his wife, Patsy, of Baton Rouge, La., Stuart Seekins of Prospect and Norma Seekins of Searsport; nine grandchildren, Joseph Grant Jr. and wife Michele, Rachel Taker and husband, Jeff, Justin Davis, Talan Davis, all of Palermo, Mark Taylor and wife Ashley of Palmyra, Joshua Seekins and Charlie Seekins, both of Searsport, Jeffrey Cooley of Leesville, La., and Megan Seekins of Stockton Springs; nine great-grandchildren, Dawn Rush, Tristan Shute, Jessica Grant, Payge Shute, Taylor Shute, Grant Taker, Travis Taylor & Zachary Taylor; a brother, Phillip Seekins, of Bucksport; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Mariner’s Lodge 68, in memory of Pearley B. Seekins, c/o Darrell Gilman, 12 Alto St., Belfast, Maine 04915.
