THURMAN LEE OBITUARY Thurman F. Lee of Interlachen, FL passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born in Avon Park, FL. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 21 years and attained the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. He was part of a Special Forces unit during a tour in Vietnam. Upon retirement from the Navy, he settled in Interlachen, FL and worked as a mechanic in Palatka and Gainesville. He was known for being able to fix almost anything and would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He loved fresh water fishing and was an avid reader and gardener. He was beloved by family and neighbors and will be forever missed. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Lee, his parents Henry and Minnie Mae Lee, and his daughter in law Gayla Lee. He is survived by his children, Teresa May and Henry Lee; grandchildren, Maggie (Gary) Atkinson, Larry May, Cyndi (Curtis) Fields, and Tiffany Lee; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Mitch) Knowles, Shelby Conner, Jocelyn Fields, and Ryland Fields; and one great-great grandson, John Dodd. The family will have a private ceremony at a later date.
