‘Turbo Vestri Hostilis’
William J. Havyer, 75, entered into rest on Saturday January 15, 2022 at his residence. He was born June 3, 1946 in Johnstown, PA, the son of the late Gazza and Helen (Buksa) Havyer. William served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War as a Beach Jumper. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown and worked for the US Park Service as a Preservation Specialist. He enjoyed roller skating, model trains, word working and was a lifelong member of the American Legion. He is survived by a son William Havyer ll (Rachel) of Rochester, Minn.; a daughter Kristie Kopp (Ron) of York, PA.; a daughter Tracy Smith (Stephen) of Purcellville, VA.; eight grandchildren, Elena, Lydia, William, Naomi, Nathan, Katherine, Michael and Benjamin; a sister Thelma Billetdeaux of Ohio; and a brother Bernard Havyer of North Dakota. He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Havyer of Johnstown. The graveside service will be 9:30 am Wednesday January 19, 2022 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, PA. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. York PA is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 1645 West 8th St. Erie, PA. 16505
