Robert “Bob” Doornbos, 79, of Coloma died Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph. Family services will be held at later date and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to Donor’s choice. Arrangements are by the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma. Please share messages, memories or photos at www.florin.net. Bob was born on June 4, 1940 in Jamestown Township, MI to Ray and Isla Doornbos. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served our country for 23 years. He was a member of the Coloma American Legion. After the US Navy Bob was a teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School System for 20 years. In 2007 he moved back to Coloma and met his significant other, Brenda Feury. They have been together for the last 13 years and enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and other places. Bob was also a life member of the Coloma Masonic Lodge and the Elks. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting and more recently enjoyed going to the Casinos and working outdoors in his yard. His family includes his significant other, Brenda Feury and her family; his children, Andrew Doornbos of Grants Pass, OR, Kellae Fisher of Flagstaff, AZ and Heather Doornbos of WA; his sisters, Marilyn (James) Nord of Watervliet, Elaine (John) Williams of Chicago, and Mary (Gary) Richmond of Hartford, his grandson, Maverick, and his brother-in-law, Leonard Seymour. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Marcia and Kathleen.
