Obituary of Pierre Houle MR ChassellPierre P. Houle, 53, a resident of Chassell passed away Monday afternoon January 20, 2014, at the Omega House in Houghton following a battle with cancer.He was born on May 14, 1960, in Hancock, MI, a son of Marlene (Sormunen) Houle and the late Peter Houle. Pierre was raised in Chassell where he graduated from the Chassell High School with the class of 1978.Mr. Houle was a veteran having served with the United States Navy as a construction worker and mechanic, seeing combat while being stationed in Lebanon in 1983.Pierre had worked various jobs in the area. In 2004, he began working for several defense contractors being stationed in Iraq & Afghanistan. Currently, Pierre was employed with Lockheed Martin in Okinawa, Japan. Mr. Houle was a member of Post #6507 VFW of Chassell. He enjoyed working on cars and visiting with family and friends. His quick wit and sense of humor also left a smile on everyone's face.Preceding him in death was his father Peter Houle.Surviving are:His mother: Marlene Houle of ChassellHis brothers: Greg Houle of Salt Lake City, UTTim (Vanessa) Houle of SkaneeHis sister: Debbie (Bruce) Linn of Hancock His nieces: Holly, Magan, Molly, Colleen & EmilyHis nephew: RejeanHis great niece: ParvenehA special friend: Divina Miyazatu of Okinawa, JapanNumerous aunts, uncles, and cousinsA prayer service for Pierre will be held 1 PM Saturday at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell with Deacon Tom Corrigan to officiate.
