Obituary of Pierre Houle MR ChassellPierre P. Houle, 53, a resident of Chassell
passed away Monday afternoon January 20, 2014, at the Omega House in Houghton
following a battle with cancer.He was born on May 14, 1960, in Hancock, MI, a son of
Marlene (Sormunen) Houle and the late Peter Houle. Pierre was raised in Chassell
where he graduated from the Chassell High School with the class of 1978.Mr. Houle
was a veteran having served with the United States Navy as a construction worker and
mechanic, seeing combat while being stationed in Lebanon in 1983.Pierre had worked
various jobs in the area. In 2004, he began working for several defense contractors
being stationed in Iraq & Afghanistan. Currently, Pierre was employed with Lockheed
Martin in Okinawa, Japan. Mr. Houle was a member of Post #6507 VFW of Chassell.
He enjoyed working on cars and visiting with family and friends. His quick wit and
sense of humor also left a smile on everyone's face.Preceding him in death was his

held 1 PM Saturday at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell with Deacon
Tom Corrigan to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery.Friends may
call on Saturday January 25, 2014 from 11 am until time of services at the Memorial
Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell.In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family
suggests that memorials be given to the Omega House in Houghton or to the charity of
